A: The Multiple Glazing function is using a database that has been installed with your program but has not been connected properly.  Please click here for instructions for connecting.

8.

Q: I want to use a 1, 2 or 3-sided supported IG unit, why can't I do this?

A: While the practice is common, the installation of IG units with supports other than 4-sided is not approved by ASTM E1300 (as of June 16, 2008)  The reason for this is the shear load now placed on the sealant on the unsupported side(s) is beyond what that sealant was designed for.  "Flexible" supports for 1 or more sides is also common practice for lites but again is not covered in ASTM E1300 and therefore not incorporated into the Window Glass Design programs.

9.

Q: Why can't I calculate point-supported or corner-supported lites?

A: Window Glass Design 2004 is based on the ASTM E1300 standard and this standard does not currently consider point supported lites.  The limitation of the standard is the limitation of the software.

10.

Q: If I install the 2004 version of Window Glass Design will my earlier version go away?  Will they affect each other if they are both installed on the same machine?

A: The program installs as separate piece of software.  Installing the newest version of the software will not affect the performance of earlier versions nor will older versions affect the newer version.  If you purchase an upgrade version of the software, the previous version MUST be installed on the computer you intend to install the upgrade.

11. Q:  When I print to an Adobe PDF the text is huge or the paper size is small or something about it is just wrong.  How do I fix this?

12.
